The Happiness Market will be held on every Friday from 13 October, 2017 from 4 PM to 11 PM at Zabeel Park, and from 20 October, 2017 from 10 AM to 8 PM at Mamzar Park, Dubai, and has an expected footfall of up to 40,000 people per Friday. The ambiance of the market will be that of a fun fair, where families can spend quality time together. In addition to retail outlets and food kiosks, the market will also host games, activities and competitions for kids.
The Happiness Market is aimed at supporting local businesses, especially those owned by Emiratis, through providing a conducive and accessible platform. It also aims to promote the UAE culture by bringing the national and expatriate populations under a common umbrella. With ‘A smile on every face!’ as the primary goal, the Market will sport a different theme every month including food and fashion festivals from various countries.
“We, at Dar Al Ber Society, invite one and all to be a part of Happiness Market in whatever way possible, so that we all can contribute in spreading happiness in the society and help make Dubai the happiest city in the world”, said Abdullah Ali Bin Zayed Al Falasi, CEO, Dar Al Ber Society.
While the primary purpose of the extended market will be to generate income for the humanitarian activities of Dar Al Ber Society, it also provides an opportunity for companies to promote their brands and generate cash sales. Such participation will consequently contribute to Dar Al Ber Society’s efforts as well.
The initiatives of Dar Al Ber Society has been supporting the underprivileged section of the society since 1979 by paying for their basic requirements such as medical expenses, schools fees, house rent and food. Hence, participation in The Happiness Market could help save the lives of critically ill people and families in distress, and enable children to get education.
The Friday Market, another market organised by us, has been operational since January 2016 in Bur Dubai, and has had over two hundred thousand visitors so far. Besides raising funds for charitable activities for Dar Al Ber Society, the Market has been able to provide more than 15,000 free health check-ups and has distributed consumer products worth over AED 750,000 to the people of low income. The Friday Market has been providing FREE stalls to several needy people and their families in order to support their efforts to increase their family income. More than fifty families currently depend on the Market to generate income to pay for their monthly expenses.
“Participation in Happiness Markets can be a part of the Social Responsibility agenda for companies and individuals as it allows them to reach out directly to and support the neediest sections of the society,. So, I appeal to everyone to come forward and join hands with us to support Happiness Market” said Juhi Yasmeen khan, Charity Initiative Expert at Dar Al Ber Society.
